On this page you will find the various baking pans, utensils and appliances I use in my Kitchen. I also note the online or physical stores in Australia and New Zealand where you can buy the products.

I didn’t start out with all of this equipment, but have built them up over 30 years (obviously replacing some items more than once). There are usually ways to do without expensive items, but they do streamline your cooking and make it more enjoyable and produce better results. My family know that I love new kitchen equipment and will not be offended if I receive items as gifts!

Keep your eyes open for bargains and sales, Spotlight seem to have 30-40% off kitchenware frequently, I rarely pay full price and they have a surprisingly good range of products. I also have found some great items at my local supermarket, for a fraction of the price I would pay at a homeware/kitchen store.

The equipment I use for making Sourdough is on its own page, as most are specific to Sourdough and aren’t used in other baking or cooking. You’ll find them here: Sourdough Equipment

Multicooker

Phillips All-in-One Multicooker 2237

I bought this multicooker when my slow cooker died and it is fantastic. I use the pressure cooker function to cook rice and soup and corned silverside and the slow cook function to do chicken, stocks, lamb etc. You can also bake cakes and sauté. All for the price of a conventional slow cooker.

Food Processor

A food processor is such a useful workhorse in the kitchen. I use mine to chop, grate, slice, grind, beat… It is totally worth saving up for. My Kenwood FPM91 has loads of attachments and even an in-built set of scales.

Stand Mixer

I have had a Kenwood Chef stand mixer for about 15 years and used it regularly. I recently replaced it with this Kenwood Chef Sense XL and it is a wonderful upgrade. With a growing extended family to cook for I needed the larger size bowl. I use it to mix bread dough and mix up cakes, icing and many other jobs in the kitchen. As part of the deal when I bought it, I received a free frozen dessert maker attachment and bowl. The Kenwood stand mixer range has a number of attachments that you can buy separately eg. mincer, juicer, grain mill.

High-speed Blender

I’ve used a blender attachment to my food processor for many years and it is good for many tasks. Recently I upgraded to a high-speed blender and it is fantastic. It has taken a while to learn how to use it and when it is best to use but it has been a game changer. I bought this Froothie Optimum 9200A as it is much cheaper than other good quality blenders and I have not been disappointed. It makes smoothies, raw dessert fillings, blends soup, coconut milk/cream, grinds flour etc.

Muffins

Goldtouch Muffin Tray

These Gold touch Muffin Trays from Williams-Sonoma are such great quality and are easy to use and clean.

You can use these silicon muffin moulds for both muffins and cupcakes. They are super easy to remove and to wash. I pop one into each hole in my muffin trays and they work like a dream. I bought mine from reuzeit, they also have lots of other products to help you have a low waste kitchen and household.
